October 17, 2007 - Think Before U Click Young People's Conference report

Nearly 200, 11-13 year old Ipswich students met to discuss and learn about on-line safety. The day revealed that:

- 98% of the young people had access to a PC at home or at a friend's house
- 48% had a computer in their bedroom
- 8% used their PC after midnight
- The majority used social networking sites, the most popular of which was Bebo
- 50% had met a new internet friend face to face
- 42% had taken somebody with them for this meeting
- 48% said their new friend did not look like they thought they would
- 39% would tell a friend if they were worried by anything on the internet
- 8% would not tell anyone
